Course Scope

This short course provides participants with the basic knowledge for practical application in oil well drilling operation. It is aimed at developing the required skills needed for determining the various equipment, accessories, and processes necessary to efficiently carry out drilling operation. It is intended for participants with little knowledge in the drilling operation of the oil and gas industry.



At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe drilling process, drilling rig systems and equipment used to drill a well.
  2. Analyze the effect of formation pressure and fracture pressure on well design.
  3. Discuss routine drilling fluid and cement testing.
  4. Design casing program that satisfy basic design principles
